⭐️EDIT 9/25/22 from 4 stars to 2⭐️ - Since my original review, I’ve worn these much more frequently and found that there are several more issues I wasn’t yet aware of at first. As mentioned previously, these don’t fit my feet very well, so my feet slide around a bit while wearing them. I thought that was being caused by the fact that without laces, you can’t customize how tight/loose you prefer they be…I was wrong. I now know that the primary factor contributing to the poor fit is bc they’re too wide. I’m sure the lack of laces contributes to the issue, but it’s not what causes it. Furthermore, the top of the shoe (the tongue) comes up so high that it constantly digs into the front of my ankle while I'm walking (see pics). I tried to fold it under, but it’s too stiff and won’t bend - it’s very uncomfortable. The entire ankle is surrounded by that overly firm mesh and is too stiff. I have an easier time slipping my feet into regular sneakers with the laces tied than I can with these. I no longer recommend them for all of those reasons.[Original review:These are very nice! They’re well made of high quality materials, and they seem as though they’ll be durable. They’re very easy to put on and take off, but I wouldn’t necessarily call them slip-ons…you can’t slide your foot into them the way you do with clogs or mules. You still have stick your finger into the little hole on the back to get your feet into them.Despite the fact that I really like how they look, I’m not crazy about how they fit or the mesh-type material used for the uppers. They fit me well length-wise, but bc there are no laces, you can’t tighten or loosen them to the width of your feet - that makes them feel a little loose. I’ll probably get used to that eventually, but it’ll take a while before I stop feeling like my feet are moving around inside them. The other issue is that the mesh-type material is, well, mesh-ish - the first time I wore these, we had a storm with torrential rain, and they didn’t keep my feet dry. It’s more of a damp feeling than a soaked-through-to-the-socks feeling, but I don’t like that feeling. As a result of those two things, they’re just not for me. They’re still super nice-looking, though, and I recommend them for anyone who doesn’t mind the above issues!]I always get an 8W and a 9 when I can’t get wide sizes. Got these in a 9 and they’re a good fit. I’ve been a long time fan of the Avia brand when it comes to tennis shoes, so I was excited to try these. Been wanting a slip on shoe to exercise in. These are a bit of a let down for me, but you may love them. The cushioning in the shoe is just okay to me. Soft insoles, but the actual bed is kind of hard, taking away from the shoes flexibility. Other words, they’re stiff and ungiving when I walk in them. They could possibly be broken in and I plan to wear them for casual activity to test that theory, but I require much better support and ergonomics when working out. I’ve also recently developed foot pain from exertion that I’m not quite used to (years of sedentary office work), so these just don’t cut it for me. I’d say that if you prefer a stiff shoe and a firm bed, they’d be right up your alley. They do have a great tread level and are made with breathable material. As a word of advice, I do recommend wearing anti-blister socks because with the way the back of them is made, I experienced rubbing. I rate them a 5 for build and quality, they also don’t look half bad to be a non-slip working shoe. However, my personal experience is that they’re not all that comfortable. Overall, 4 stars.I got these for my wife who works on her feet all day. She tends to go through work shoes fairly quickly. Right out of the box they feel like good quality shoes. The material is nice and breathes well. The fit is also true to size. She's been wearing them to work since we got them in and they're pretty good for that and they really didn't have a break in period so that was even better. The only note my wife had is that there isn't really enough arch support for her. She has a slight over arch so she will likely add her own arch support inserts to help with that. Otherwise, these shoes are comfortable enough for all day wear and I would likely get them for her again.Simply great shoes. They look good on and have become my general daily shoes for walking and low-impact exercise. The only thing I can confirm about the non-slip feature is that I’ve walked in the rain with no problem even on wet grass. I did have a problem getting them on at first so let me tell you more about that. You can see in the photos that these shoes have high sides. These hit directly at the front and back of the ankle so the size of the opening for my foot to slip in is not as wide as many of my other shoes. This was more of a problem for me because I have a very high instep. Fortunately, the shoe itself provides some help. The shoes stretch in just about every direction as you pull them on. Then there’s an opening at the heel that you can put your finger through to help pull and a small tab at the front that also helps (photo).Once I get them on, I hardly notice them at all - - they are that comfortable. I paid attention so I could write the review but even with the high sides there’s no binding, rubbing, or pinching even while my foot is flexed for driving. The toe box is also generous and the sizing matches my usual size.I definitely recommend these shoes and, by the way, they are very easy to pull off. These shoes fit a little big, but not too bad. I wear them without socks, but they fit better with. I would like if the sole was a little more flexible. Since they are wide and a little more rigid, it kind of feels like I'm walking with flippers on. Overall, a good very comfortable shoe with very good grip.I like the Avia brand and have purchased several of the apparel items over the years. This is the first pair of tennis shoes from this brand that I have tried. They fit well and I really like the pull tab in the back. However, they do not provide that much cushion on the bottom for walking. I’ve been wearing them to run errands and take the kids to school which is fine, but not sure if they will feel comfortable logging in 20k steps at Disneyland.
